Haze, also known as turbidity, can be used to measure the degree of opacity or turbidity of transparent or translucent materials. It represents the indicator of characteristic scattering. Foggy appearance is caused by the scattering of light from the inner or outer surface of the material. To put it simply, haze is the ratio of the flux of colored gifts scattered light to the flux of painful materials.
Light transmittance and haze are important indicators to measure material transparency, and the relationship between them is as follows: generally speaking, there is an inverse relationship between light transmittance and haze, that is, materials with high transmittance have low haze, and vice versa. But the relationship is not always this way, and sometimes it has the opposite effect. If the transmittance of ground glass is higher, but its mist is bigger also. So transmittance and haze are two optical indexes which are opposite and related to each other.
